Are Bankers Bonkers ?

By Sanjeev Suri From India of DestiNATION Excellence

This might appear to be ranting of an irate customer at
first glance but the author^*^ has actually been doing
some serious research on Customer Service & Efficiency
issues for past few years.
And the banks came under the scanner simply for their
utter lack of the two attributes mentioned above.

Should the reader [and this holds true across national
boundaries ] have a regular interaction with banks, it
is easy to see and agree that Customer Service is only
a disguise for "Complaint Handling Desk" & Efficiency
is choking under the burden of Departmental Divisions
and the bankers' love for their Process[es].
Haven't you - at any time - wished your Bank to be a
One Gateway Unit instead of a section or department jig
you have to dance through one after the other to have
your issue resolved ?

With Credit Cards in almost every pocket and the banks
bending over backwards to entice you to use their Loan
to fund everything from an automobile to a hairpin, an
average citizen today deals with three to four banks.

And with every bank wanting a slice of your time - be it
regarding a checking account, a credit card hassle or an
insurance they wish to sell you against the housing loan
that you took last year - the day passes by in a jiffy.

For the readers so inclined, certain issues related to
banks' condescendingly incongruent & itinerant ways are
posted on my related blog. The incidents are true and it
is expected that many of the readers will have similarly
harrowing tales to narrate.

With U.S. government on the verge of bailing out Citibank,
it is but natural that THIS topic is playing on the minds
of all the citizens of the world who have credit cards in
their wallet.
